It took a little less than 10 hours to mow the whole lawn but now the first time is done. And as agreed, next time will be easier. Yeah. Right. So I thought I might make a few earrings to get the jewellery shop going again. Spring green with surgical steel.

So now that the lawn is done for a while, I grabbed the pitchfork and worked in the vegetable garden. Help was again available although she focused on supervising my work, occasionally playing with the weeds I pulled and demanding some love & tenderness. I was happy to oblige.

House of Cards

But first, let's eat. I made a chickpea curry with rice the other day. I didn't use all the chickpeas I boiled, so today I made another version with soybean meat. I cooked and drained them, then fried them with jeera and curry and tandoori spice and onion and garlic, added the chickpeas, then half a veggie broth cube & 2 dl of water and a squirt of tomato púree. I let it simmer for a while, took the pan off the heat and then poured in some leftover yoghurt. Done.




No sit, mie oon tänä viikonloppun kahelt House of Cardsin uutta kautta ja just sain kahtonee. Hyvä ol, mikä ei kyl olt mikkää üllatus. Siin samal neuloin ja tännää tein koruloita. Täs on jotakii jadentapasta kivvee ja kuparii.

So I watched the new season of House of Cards and it was good, no surprise there. While watching I knitted a sock and started another. Today I gave my shoulders a rest and made jewellery instead. This is faux jade with copper.

Miul on erinäisii riipuksii ("Löytöjä hartsikauvelt") viel laatikois, aloin sit joutessai tehä niist korrui.

I have several pendants ("Findings from the Resin Era") in my bead boxes, so I took them out and made them into jewellery.



Löysin myös osasii mil voip tehä kolmikertasii koruloi, nii jot ei ko tekemää. Makkeevee helmiä laitoi kaveriks.

I also found these connectors for triple-layered jewellery, so I made some with freshwater pearls.

Tuntuu pientä virikettä korupuolel, kahotaa mite pitkää sitä piisaa. Nää tein eile, hoppeeta, lassii ja patinoituu messinkii.

I feel a slight tingle in my jewellery-making muscle, we'll see how long this will last. These I made yesterday, glass with silver and patinated brass.

A mie en oo aikoihi vaivant päätäi uusil ketjumalliloil ja tää on kutkutelt pitemmä aikaa, nyt sit alotteli kokkeilla. Pihit on liia isot tähä hommaa, pies olla kappeekärkist, mut miehä tien näil mitä on ja kirroilen männessäi. Tän nimi on lohikärmee suomu, dragonscale.

I haven't learned a new weave in years so it was about time. This is dragonscale, which I've wanted to try for ages. My pliers are too big for the weave, small narrowheaded ones would be better, but do I let that stop me? Hell no. I weave and curse and curse and weave on.

If the lawnmower had worked and if I had mowed the lawn, I wouldn't have seen this flower now. So there.

I got new jewellery beads and findings a few weeks ago and since I'm now up to date with my knitting orders, I had time to play with them. These found new homes right away.

A friend from far away visited and we headed to a nature path along a river. I really like these lamps, they're cute and steampunky.

It's the time of the dragonflies. Some summers when I go outside the air is full of them, making loops and Immelmans and whatever, this summer there aren't as many. At least not yet. They're like flying pieces of jewellery.

Sit on tämmöne, Pirunkirkko on nimeltää hää. Tääl miu isoisoeno hääri ja parantel ihmisii, tulliit iha Pietarist ast tänne Mati hoijettaviks. Tarina kertoo jot Matil ol aarre, mut kukkaa ei oo sitä löytänt. Luola kuitekii on toimint ihmisii pakopaikkan isoviha aikaa, ja viel jatkosovankii aikan sinne peitettii piiloo tavaroita ko pit lähtii sottaa karkuu. Hito hieno paikka.

We also visited Pirunkirkko. It's a cave which the locals have used as a hideaway when the Russians ruled in the 1700s. It was used as lately as WWII  - when people had to escape the war, they hid their valuables and belongings in the cave. It is an awesome place. Also, my great-greatuncle was a healer who saw his patients in this cave. People came to seek his help from as far as St. Petersburg. The legend says he had a treasure, gifts from grateful patients, and so far the treasure remains hidden.
