I was asked for stitch markers. The largest mandrel I've got is 7 mm so I had to invent. I took a piece of 12 mm copper tube and made the rings with it, then sawed really carefully holding the spiral in my fingers. No bloodshed, yay. Then I added glue and a bead and now there are 30+ of these going to be tested. I also knitted a pair of tailored fingerless mittens but there's no photo of them, at least not yet.

I have had the urge to do more ever since, preferably with beads. So once again without thinking I blurted out in Facebook if any of my friends had seen seed bead colour kits in bead shops (as I had donated my own selection years ago thinking I'd never use them). This was in the mailbox today from my friend Katri. All these beads!

For some reason I hadn't made these before, ever. Now that they were specifically asked for, I gave it a try and made a few versions from which to choose. I still have a couple of those keychain lock thingys so might make a few more.

Kevättä pukkaa - Spring is making progress

We were discussing Spring with my friend the other day so I decided to take a few photos about what it means here. From Southern Finland friends have posted pics of spring flowers and such - we'll have to wait a while longer for them to appear.

Virkkausta - Crocheting

Edelliset yllärjutut männiit perile ja olliit kuulemma mieleisii, nii jot illal pistin seuraavan tulile. Ei siit sen enempää viel.

The two surprises I knitted had reached their new owners so I started the next one last night.

Today I decided to crochet a new pouch for my phone. I got some 100% silk yarn which seemed perfect for this. The green-white pouch has seen the world and is quite worn out already. I did crochet a pair of these some time ago but must have stored them really safely somewhere as I haven't seen them since. So, a new one.

These ceramic beads made by my friend Inkku added just the perfect touch. I didn't want to separate them from each other - now I don't have to.

Got the yarn and knitting away like crazy. I started with the darkest yarn, defined by the future user as "gnome grey".

Another friend was worried about my chocolate consumption. Both are delicious.



Käväsin pitkäst aikaa kirpputoril ja sinnehä ol tuotu taas miu värilöi ja pitämättömii vaatteita. Kuuvel eurol sain puuvillaneuletakin, puuvillatopi, napaka hammee ja pellavatunikankii viel. Nyt ko vaa pääsen eriksee näis(kii) olevast Eau de Persili hajust, mie en totta mooses ymmärrä jot käytetää pesuainetta mis on noi vahva haju mist tulloo pää kipiäks. I visited the local flea market after a long while and it was worth the visit. Found all of these brand new clothes for six euros and in my colours. Cotton and linen and a quality skirt, the material of which is unknown as the previous owner had cut the labels. Saves me the trouble - I hate labels and take them off always, they scratch my skin. Now all I need to do is get rid of the Eau de Persil scent, I honestly don't understand using a detergent with a strong smell that gives me migraine. But it's a small nuisance after all, and if nothing else helps, vinegar will dissolve the smell.

Kevät - Spring

No eikse oo, ko ker maaliskuu jo? Peridoottii pujottelin oscarloi kahtois. Huippukohat ol Mad Maxin puvustaja, Ennio Morricone ja sit tietyst DiCaprio . Hiljaseks veti Lady Gaga ja kumppanit. Rispektii.

Isn't it Spring, it's March after all. I made this peridote & Swarovski & silver necklace while watching the Oscars. I cheered for the costume designer of Mad Max, Ennio Morricone and of course DiCaprio. Lady Gaga and co. on the other hand silenced us all, I think. Respect.

Miul on erinäisii riipuksii ("Löytöjä hartsikauvelt") viel laatikois, aloin sit joutessai tehä niist korrui.

I have several pendants ("Findings from the Resin Era") in my bead boxes, so I took them out and made them into jewellery.



Löysin myös osasii mil voip tehä kolmikertasii koruloi, nii jot ei ko tekemää. Makkeevee helmiä laitoi kaveriks.

I also found these connectors for triple-layered jewellery, so I made some with freshwater pearls.
