I wasn't supposed to get any yule presents this year. Right. First there was one surprise, then a load of firewood appeared, today I got some 45 Carelian rice pies, and Gran mentioned a piece of pork. DIY version innovation! I saw Ben & Jerry's Cookie Dough ice cream at the store, the price was a whopping 7 euros for a small cup and I thought hell no. So instead I bought - duh - cookie dough for 1,65 euros and grated some over regular vanilla ice cream which I already had in the freezer. Everyone knows that gingerbread dough gets ruined when it's baked, right? It's at its best raw and this is (so far) the tastiest way to eat it. Try it, you won't be disappointed.

And since I'm not the start-preparing-for-yule-in-june-type, I'll probably just hoover a little and go get a spruce from the field and decorate it and cook good food (which I'd do anyway), I've had quality time with the Doctor in space and time. Today I went shopping with Mom and caught myself checking out the lanterns to see which ones were the right shape so they could be painted to look like the Tardis. I've also found myself googling for replicas of River Song's journal. This is geek life, you get carried away with something totally, and in my case they seem to be forever. If I'm into something, I'm into it for good. (Yes, I'm going to see The Force Awakens as soon as it's possible to do so.) And I probably wouldn't want it any other way.

Viikoloppun olin puuhommis. Did some firewood things during the weekend. I am also doing my best to see all the seasons of Doctor Who before Netflix removes them. Yes, I finally gave in to Netflix, they offered a free month and it seemed all my gadgets for dvd viewing were more or less kaputt, so I was lacking good entertainment (especially since Downton Abbey is on hold until the holiday season special and Bron/Broen/The Bridge ended as well, le sigh). So, I thought I'd finally patch up this hole in my nerdiness and try out Doctor Who. And there I am, starting with the ninth Doctor (the older Doctors will have to wait for now, since they're not on Netflix), until suddenly during an episode of season 2 there's this announcement that the season will be removed from Netflix at the end of the month. Gasp! WTF? Same announcement with season 3 - that's where I am at the moment, halfway through. Therefore, this Whovian's off to space nearly every evening, fortunately at this time of year the evenings are long and dark and there's no snow to be cleared from the yard so I have good time to do that.

Korrui - Jewellery

I have several pendants ("Findings from the Resin Era") in my bead boxes, so I took them out and made them into jewellery.

I also found these connectors for triple-layered jewellery, so I made some with freshwater pearls.
