Kevätjuttuloi - Spring things

From a distance it seemed like the ice was gone but I wanted to make sure so we walked to the lakeshore. Gone it is. I didn't let the dogs swim yet, though this one wanted to.

The keychain necklaces I made were too short, also another black-brigh version was requested so I made this one. Also, I'm adding some length to the earlier ones.

Joel - By the river

Tännää perinteiselt "tarviittakstyömittäämieoonmänöskauppaa"-mummoluonkäynnilt tulles piäti joe rantaa ja västäräkki käi sanomas jot "vähäse".

Did my traditional "need anything, I'm going to the store?"-visit at Grandma's and afterwards I stopped by the river. Motacilla alba, white wagtail, came to say hello. We have a rhyme about migrating birds in Finnish, which roughly says that for the summer to arrive, it'll take half a moon after you've seen a  common chaffinch, a while after seeing the white wagtail but not even a day after the swallow. So, a while more, then.

For some reason I hadn't made these before, ever. Now that they were specifically asked for, I gave it a try and made a few versions from which to choose. I still have a couple of those keychain lock thingys so might make a few more.
